  9. This is an update archive to change Iris V2.1 to V2.2.
  10. It uses GPatch, created by Ralph Gruner, which is included.

  14. * Now uses direct socket access instead of TCP: device. This makes
  15.   communication with the servers a lot faster.
  16.  
  17. * Iris is now compatible with TermiteTCP as well.
  18.  
  19. * Separate programs for POP and SMTP communication. This reduces the memory
  20.   requirements when sending and receiving email considerably.
  21.  
  22. * Two new authentication mechanisms that don't transmit the password in
  23.   cleartext (APOP and CRAM-MD5).
  24.  
  25. * Option to retrieve the first lines of long messages only and retrieve the
  26.   complete message on demand.
  27.  
  28. * Replaced the option "Show connection windows" by "Keep connection
  29.   windows". The connection windows, which indicate progress, are now
  30.   always open; this checkbox decides whether they should close
  31.   automatically when the operation has been completed successfully. If an
  32.   error occured, they remain open in any case.

  34. * Various enhancements of the GUI.

  36. * Changed term 'host' to 'server', a more usual term.

  38. * BUGFIX: BrowseWWW.rexx was not called if openurl.library was
